Last year alone, volunteers donated more than 63,000 hours of service to NVFS.

Donation Drives

Northern Virginia Family Service organizes a few "major" donation drives throughout the year.

The Back-to-School Drive takes place in July and August each year. NVFS provides new backpacks stuffed with grade-appropriate school supplies for our most vulnerable clients, ensuring that they start school "ready to learn".

Each November, Operation Turkey provides Thanksgiving baskets to well over 1,000 families and helps stock our Emergency Food Distribution Center with supplemental foods to distribute to our neighbors in need in Manassas and western Prince William County.

Our Gifting for Families Holiday Initiative is also held during November and December and is actually two donation drives in one! During this timeframe, thousands of toys and tens of thousands of dollars in gift cards are collected to help make the holidays a little bit brighter for the families we serve.
