Sales Associate (Thrift Shops-multiple ongoing openings on both locations)

The NVFS Thrift Shops have served our community by providing quality merchandise at affordable price. They are also a source of revenue for Northern Virginia Family Service programs and offer merchandise to members of the community at affordable prices. The Thrift Shops offer a wide variety of new and slightly used merchandise to the community including books, house wares, gift items, collectibles, records, CD's, artwork, sporting goods, luggage, linens, estate goods, small appliances, toys and more.  We have 2 thrift store locations: Falls Church and Centreville.

The Sales Associate will provide quality service and promote sales of store merchandise and enhance customer experience by providing strong levels of customer service. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining orderliness of the sales floor.

Essential job duties include:

  • Assist in building of displays and other store presentation
  • Process sales transactions ensuring accuracy of payment
  • Process merchandise following pricing guidelines
  • Process store donations according to established guidelines
  • Foster team environment with other staff and volunteers

Education and experience required:

  • High School diploma
  • Prefer related work experience in retail sales
