NVFS Press Release
Oakton, VA – July 2, 2012 – Northern Virginia Family Service and the Hispanic Committee of Virginia have completed a merger of the two organizations, effective July 1, 2012. Program operations continue at the same location, with the same phone numbers as before. Referring agencies and prospective clients are encouraged to continue to reach out to former staff of HCVA, who are continuing their work with NVFS.
“We look forward to further integrating the programs previously operated by the Committee, and enhancing them as we move forward,” said Mary Agee, NVFS President & CEO.
The Hispanic Committee of Virginia has core services in the areas of housing stability, case management, financial literacy, immigration legal assistance and small business development. Incorporating these new programs and highly qualified staff into NVFS creates a continuum of integrated services designed to more fully support families on their paths to greater independence.
The staff of the Committee can still be reached at their offices:

“We are grateful for the leadership of NVFS and Mary Agee in identifying the best path forward for these community resources,” said Jose Trujillo, President of HCVA’s Board of Directors. “We look forward to what comes next as a result of increased program integration and greater access.”
