While the whole nation is focused on complicated and entangled issues such as war, the economy, health care and the environment we can never lose sight of the next generation, the young people who will inherit tomorrow the decisions we make today, good or bad.

As a nation and a community we know that the more we do to support babies, children and young people today the more they will thrive in the years to come. When babies don’t have adequate health care they are less likely to succeed in school. Without a stable and consistent home with which to connect, foster care children may not thrive. A lack of connection to a school community and/or home environment over time leaves kids vulnerable to other risky behaviors.

Northern Virginia Family Service comes in contact with children of all ages and circumstances and works to ensure they have basic needs and skills for lifelong success. NVFS programs provide early intervention, prevention and education ranging from prenatal care and through adolescence and young adulthood.
