Become a Mentor
1-2-1 Mentors act as a role model and source of friendship and encouragement. They are caring adults who help youth improve academic performance, self-esteem, and social skills.
Through the development of a consistent and goal-oriented relationship under the supervision of NVFS’ program coordinator, mentors and mentees complete school assignments together, practice social and life skills, discuss issues of importance to the mentee, and participate in recreational activities and field trips
Mentors will receive thorough training and on-going supervision from NVFS Mentoring staff.
There is perhaps no one, outside of the child's own parents or guardians, who will be as important to the child's success.
