The Vehicles for Change
program was established to assist low-income individuals in our
community as they strive to become self-reliant. The program receives
donations of used cars from the community and prepares them to be "road
ready" for distribution
to eligible recipients. (See eligibility requirements below.)
Vehicles for Change repairs the donated cars in partnership with
local garages and provides them to low-income families for a nominal
fee ($600-$700), allowing the wage earners in each family to have
dependable transportation to work. Each recipient receives
a small loan for purchase of the car to be paid back over a 12-month
period.
