NVFS Welcomes Local Leaders to Board

Oakton, Va., Aug. 11, 2004-With the recent addition of four new local leaders, the Board of Directors of Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) has become a major powerhouse in the region. Joining the Board are representatives of Cox Communications, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Washington Gas and Hogan & Hartson, LLP. The new members were elected at the annual board meeting in June to serve a three-year term.

“We are thrilled to welcome these new members to the Board of Directors. They bring to NVFS a wealth of expertise and an enduring sense of commitment to the families of Northern Virginia,” said Mary B. Agee, NVFS president and CEO. “With a group of such powerful leaders, I am confident that we will be able to provide an unsurpassed level of support for our clients.”

Joining the Board are Gary McCollum, vice president and general manager for Cox Communications Northern Virginia; Carlos Gonzalez, international tax service partner in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Washington National Tax Services office; Terry McCallister, president and COO of WGL Holdings/Washington Gas Light Company; and Robert Duncan, a partner in the Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia offices of Hogan & Hartson L.L.P.

Other corporations represented on the Board include Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, The Washington Post, USA Today and Freddie Mac, among others.

“The Board of Directors of NVFS has set an aggressive agenda for the coming year and we will be working diligently to reach all of our goals,” Agee said. “Through a variety of new and enhanced programs and initiatives, NVFS will continue to be the primary source for families in need in Northern Virginia.”
