Workshop
to Teach Sept. 11 Survivors How to Make
Career Breakthroughs
WHAT:
Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) invites individuals
directly affected by the Sept. 11 terrorist attack
on the Pentagon to attend the “Career Breakthroughs”
workshop. This is part of an ongoing series of workshops
created to assist survivors, their families and first
responders address their continuing recovery needs.
WHEN:
Saturday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., with lunch
(Weather date: Saturday, March 4)
WHERE:
NVFS’ Oakton office, 10455 White Granite Dr., Suite
100, Oakton, Va.
WHO:
It is free for survivors, first responders and family
members directly affected by the Sept. 11 Pentagon
attack.
WHY:
“Career Breakthroughs: A Roadmap to New Opportunities,”
will be presented by award-winning career coach, Gene
Gitelson. Gitelson is a New Jersey-based career consultant
and executive coach who has over 25 years of experience
in helping people make significant breakthroughs in
their careers. He has worked with surviving family
members, survivors, responders, evacuees and others
whose careers were impacted by the events of Sept.
11, 2001.
This
workshop (with follow-up coaching sessions) is designed
to assist those who were directly affected by Sept.
11 with finding new career focuses, their individual
“driving forces” or renewed career goals. Participants
will be able to use their own marketable skills to
help identify a fitting career path. Following the
workshop, participants will be able to receive individual
coaching on an “as needed” basis. These sessions will
address individual opportunities, career barriers
and blocks that may arise. A full service Web site
will enable participants to access information online.
This
project is supported by a Sept. 11 recovery grant
from the American Red Cross Liberty Disaster Relief
Fund.
