Northern Virginia Family Service, along with community partners Northern Virginia Community College and Inova Health System, and our event co-chairs, J. Walter Tejada and Raul Danny Vargas, are pleased to announce the following awardees for their contributions to our community, to be recognized at the 2010 We Are America Now event:
Rosemary Tran Lauer, Founder, Devotion to Children
For her work to provide access to educational and childcare programs to disadvantaged children. Lauer is of Vietnamese heritage and strongly encourages diversity in her work with the Lauer Group.
Joe V. Travez, Co-Founder and CEO of Prototype Productions, Inc. (PPI)
For his investment in youth leadership and innovation. Travez is of Ecuadorian heritage and has made a significant impact as a community leader, passionate about developing new technology that has direct benefits towards social and economic development.
Dr. Claudia Campos, Clinical Psychologist
For her advocacy of health education. Campos is of Colombian heritage and is a recognized leader in this region’s Latino community. She collaborates with many media outlets to educate the public in her specialty areas of reproductive health and psychology.
Please join us in this celebration to showcase the vibrant, positive and constructive contributions immigrant and multicultural families make to our community, as we honor these individuals who have made a significant difference in this region.
