NVFS’ Fall Food Drive
Ending Hunger, Together
NVFS’ Fall Food Drive will help us to stock the shelves at our Hunger Resource Center (HRC) and meet the 26% increase in demand for food that we have been experiencing since emergency SNAP benefits ended in the spring. Nearly 400 families per month rely on regular support from the HRC resulting in a distribution of 46,322 pounds of food per month. Here are three ways you can help:
1. Donate Food
Suggested Items
Dry Goods: beans/lentils, pasta, rice, coffee, tea, cocoa, one box meals (like Hamburger Helper) peanut butter, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, instant potatoes
Pantry Staples: flour, sugar, muffin mix, premade baking mix, flour, sugar, shelf-stable milk, cooking oil/spray
Canned Goods: fruit, applesauce, low sodium canned vegetables, canned meat, potatoes, beans/lentils, soup, broth, pasta sauce
➤ Coordinate a food drive with your office, family, church, civic group, sports team, or neighborhood! Email lhurst@nvfs.org for more information.

2. Make a Monetary Donation
While our greatest need is in-kind food donations to support the Hunger Resource Center we know that not everyone can run their own food drive. Each contribution of $25 provides a grocery store gift card to help a family who wishes to purchase perishable items, such as proteins or other fresh produce.
3. Donate Grocery Store Cards
Gift cards help families who may wish to purchase perishable items, such as proteins or other fresh produce. NVFS recommends Giant Food gift cards, but all grocery gift cards are welcome. Please send gift cards to:
Northern Virginia Family Service
ATTN: Fall Food Drive
10455 White Granite Dr., Suite 100
Oakton, VA 22124
