NVFS’ Fall Food Drive

Ending Hunger, Together

NVFS’ Fall Food Drive helps stock the shelves of the Hunger Resource Center (HRC) for the busy fall and winter holiday season. Nearly 450 families each month will have access to fresh produce, pantry staples, and proteins. In addition to non-perishable food, the drive also provides families with grocery store gift cards, allowing them greater flexibility for their holiday meals.

Our greatest need is shelf-stable food and the most requested food donations are:
Canned fruit, applesauce, canned vegetables, canned meat & fish, canned potatoes, instant mashed potatoes box, beans (all types) and lentils, soup, broth and stock, pasta sauce, pasta, rice, coffee and tea, one-box meals (like Hamburger Helper), peanut butter, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, pre-made baking mix, flour, sugar, shelf-stable milk, cooking oil and spray. Gluten-free, low-sodium, and low-sugar items are always needed!

New This Year — We’re Accepting Perishable Foods!
With this year’s Fall Food Drive at the NVFS Hunger Resource Center, we can now accept:

  • Fresh produce
  • Sealed dairy
  • Packaged meat/poultry/eggs
  • Commercial bakery bread & baked goods

Perishables must be sealed, labeled, within date, and delivered cold/frozen during collection hours. No homemade items or opened packages, please.

Donation Drop-off Dates

  • Monday, October 27th, 2025: 10am – 5pm
  • Wednesday, October 29th, 2025: 10am – 5pm
  • Wednesday, November 5th, 2025: 10am-5pm
  • Friday, November 7th, 2025: 10am-5pm

Drop-off Location

  • NVFS’ Hunger Resource Center: 10058 Dean Dr., Manassas, VA 20110
  • Driving Directions – Due to construction on Dean Drive (from Wellington Road), GPS directions may lead you to a detour or closed road to the HRC. The most reliable access to Dean Drive is via the new turnoff from Nokesville Road/Rt. 28.
  • Parking Instructions – When you enter the lot, please go to the right and to the back of the HRC to the loading dock where staff and volunteers will assist you with unloading your donations. Please do not park in the front circle as we leave that open for clients.

4. Donate Gift cards▼

Grocery Store Gift Cards are a top need! We suggest Giant, Walmart, Safeway, and Target in $25 increments.

Drop them off during our drop-off dates or mail them to us at Northern Virginia Family Services, ATTN: Holiday Initiatives, 3110 Fairview Park Drive, Suite 500, Falls Church, VA 22042.

Note: Fall Food Drive donations benefit families in Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. Please note, should contributions for Fall Food Drive exceed our budgeted need, gifts will be directed to where they are needed most to help children and families living in poverty throughout Northern Virginia.
