Many families are forced to choose between putting food on the table or paying their household bills. The Hunger Resource Center helps over 650 families avoid this difficult choice each month — and stave off the perils of homelessness.  Food Recovery Driver volunteers make routine pick-ups to rescue food from grocery stores and restaurants to help those families.

Volunteers must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Ride along training with experience volunteer or staff is provided. Volunteers drive agency vehicles, not their own.  Sign up to be a Food Recover Driver today! One day a week can make a life-long impact on a family in need.

P.S. You don’t have to do it alone – the vans seat 2 people – bring a partner to help you out. It’s a great workout, too!
