Brenda Johnson

Major Brenda Johnson, Retired began her distinguished career in the United States Army as a commissioned communications officer, entering as a Second Lieutenant upon graduating from college. She served in the Army Signal Corps supporting Air Defense and Field Artillery units both domestically and abroad, including deployments during the Gulf War, Operation Desert Shield, and Operation Desert Storm. Her service earned numerous awards for valor and excellence, culminating in her final assignment at the Pentagon.

In 2003, Brenda and her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Jerome Johnson, Retired, became entrepreneurs, opening a Dunkin’/Baskin Robbins franchise. They have since expanded their business across Northern Virginia, serving communities in Pentagon City, Crystal City, Alexandria, Woodbridge, and Charlottesville. Brenda finds business ownership both challenging and rewarding, with a strong commitment to providing the best for their employees and the communities they serve.

Brenda is deeply committed to community service. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Omicron Chi Omega Chapter, and serves on the boards of several charitable and educational organizations in Prince William County, including the Ivy Foundation of Greater Prince William County, Inc.®, the Epsilon Sigma Boule Foundation, Inc.®, and the Creative and Performing Arts Center (CAPAC), where she is Co-Chairman of the Governance Committee. She also actively supports her church’s outreach efforts that serve and uplift the community.

Brenda and her husband have a son and daughter-in-law with three children, and a daughter with one son. Family remains at the heart of her values and motivation.
