Our Benefits

NVFS is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive and cost-effective benefits package that promotes a culture of employee well-being. NVFS shares a significant portion of the premium cost for employee and dependent health, dental and vision insurance, and also provides a rich array of benefits offerings to meet the wide variety of employee needs. All benefits, except for the 401k plan, are effective the first of the month following the date of hire. Our benefits package includes:

 

Benefit Details

HEALTH INSURANCE:
Three health plans through Kaiser Permanente are offered to suit the needs of employees. Choose from the HMO Signature plan (with predictable out-of-pocket costs and low premiums), the FlexChoice plan (with more provider choice and three tiers of available coverage/networks within one plan) or (with shared responsibility for your health care choices and the power to become a well-informed health care consumer).

DENTAL INSURANCE:
NVFS offers dental insurance through MetLife’s Preferred Dentist Program, which is a Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) plan. With the plan, you can choose from thousands of participating general dentists and specialists nationwide so you are sure to find one who meets your needs.

VISION INSURANCE:
The vision plan through VSP provides for a well vision exam every plan year with a $10 co-payment. Allowances for prescription glasses (including lenses every 12 months and frames 24 months) or contact lenses every 12 months.

LIFE & ADD INSURANCE:
Reliance group life insurance is provided to benefit eligible employees with premiums paid for by NVFS. The benefit is equivalent to 1.5 times the employee’s annual salary to a maximum of $150,000. In addition, Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage is provided in the event of an accidental bodily injury, which causes loss of life or limb.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY:
Reliance long-term disability insurance is provided to benefit eligible employees with premiums paid for by NVFS. The benefit pays 60% of an employee’s monthly base salary to a maximum benefit of $10,000, and is payable after a 90 day elimination period.

SHORT-TERM DISABILITY:
Reliance short-term disability insurance is provided to benefit eligible employees with premiums paid for by NVFS. The benefit pays 60% of an employee’s weekly base salary, (up to $1,500 per week), for an approved disability. Benefit is payable after a 14 day elimination period.

IDENTITY THEFT INSURANCE:
This benefit provides up to $25,000 coverage with $0 deductible and will cover loss for computer fraud, fund transfers, money order and counterfeit paper currency transactions. This insurance will cover loss or damage to money, securities, and other property resulting directly from the use of any computer to fraudulently cause a transfer of that property from inside your premises or a banking premise to a person or place outside of those premises. It will also cover loss of funds resulting from fraudulent instructions directing a financial institution to transfer or pay funds from your transfer account. Lastly, it will protect against loss caused by your accepting counterfeit currency.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT:
NVFS recognizes that educational development is important and should be encouraged. The NVFS Tuition Assistance Program provides an opportunity for employees to obtain additional education in order to increase their competence in their present jobs and to prepare for future advancements within the Agency. NVFS will consider granting tuition assistance for academic study at the undergraduate and graduate level in an accredited college, university or vocational school to employees who have one year of continuous employment, who have satisfactory job performance and whose value to the Agency will be enhanced by the study in terms of their professional qualifications and the current needs of the Agency.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT:
This plan enables you to have a specified amount of pre-taxed income deducted from your paycheck each pay period. These dollars are set aside in a reimbursement account and subtracted from gross earnings before any taxes are taken out. The funds are to be used to pay for out-of-pocket medical and/or dependent care expenses.

SUPPLEMENTAL LIFE INSURANCE:
Supplemental term life and AD&D insurance is available for purchase from Reliance to a maximum of $300,000 (not to exceed five times an employee’s annual salary). Supplemental Life Insurance is also available for a spouse, domestic partner and/or children of benefit eligible employees.

401 (K) RETIREMENT PLAN:
After six months of employment all employees over the age of 21, except those who are non-resident aliens with no U.S. source of income and those who are treated as independent contractors, may opt to have a percent of their compensation up to the maximum amount permitted by law deposited in a 401(k) plan.

After six months of employment NVFS will contribute an amount equal to 3% of an employee’s salary to their 401(k). This is considered a safe harbor non-matching contribution with immediate vesting.
NVFS will also provide up to a 2% employer match. NVFS will match $0.50 per $1.00 an employee defers, up to a maximum 2% match (which occurs when an employee defers 4% of their salary). Matching contributions have a three year vesting schedule.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:
An Employee Assistance Program is available to employees and their immediate family members. The plan provides free and confidential counseling, legal, financial and referral services.

INCOME PROTECTION:
Voluntary Supplemental Benefits offered through Allstate Insurance. Available plans include low and high level accident and critical illness plans.

LEGAL PLANS:
Affordable, convenient legal services are available through membership with the HYATT Premier Legal Plan.

PET INSURANCE:
NVFS offers pet insurance through Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI). VPI is America’s #1 choice for pet insurance. VPI covers accidents, illnesses and preventive care for your pets.

This benefit is based on length of service. If an employee is part-time, the benefit is prorated based on percentage of hours scheduled to work. Please note: there is an accrual cap.

Employees will accrue 15 critical illness sick days per year. If an employee is part-time, the benefit is prorated based on percentage of hours scheduled to work. Please note: there is an accrual cap.

PAID HOLIDAYS:
All full time employees are entitled to 10 holidays each calendar year: eight (8) Federal holidays, one (1) floating holiday, and the day after Thanksgiving.
