The Transportation Aide provides routine and non-routine transportation and/or security escort for children placed in the Foster Care Program. Incumbent is expected to provide a positive role model to children and follow specific guidelines for interactions with clients. All NVFS employees are expected to demonstrate the organizational values and sensitivity to the diversity of the organization’s client base.
Job duties include:
- Provides transportation and/or escort services to Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) children and families; attends to external environmental factors/people/situations that may create conflict or potentially dangerous situations for the children or families and responds according to training provided.
- Reports to TFC Social Worker on any ongoing difficulties with a child.
- Maintain current level of knowledge information on foster/respite care programs.
Education and experience required:
- High School diploma.
- Prefer two (2) years related work experience in child development and working with families.
- Ability to work beyond normal working hours.
- Valid US driver’s license; clean driving record.
- Must have reliable, dependable and insured transportation.
- Must be able to lift a child into a car seat.
- Successful completion of background checks required upon hire.
