NVFS’ events offer an opportunity to elevate your brand as a leader in the philanthropic space—to both existing and potential clients, and to the region at-large.
May
Road to Independence Gala: An annual event that celebrates the transformational work of NVFS programs.
Get Involved: Sponsor and/or attend the Gala in May.

August
Back-to-School Drive: Ensures more than 1,000 children across the region have a backpack full of supplies to start the school year off right.
Get Involved: Host a school supply drive or volunteer onsite to organize supplies, stuff backpacks, and label for client distribution.

October
Fall Food Drive: Ensures that the nearly 400 families per month that rely on the Hunger Resource Center (HRC) get the food they need by helping us stock the HRC’s shelves.
Get Involved: ???

November – December
Holiday Giving – Operation Turkey & Gifting for Families: Bring joy to a family this season by helping them enjoy a holiday meal and helping NVFS distribute more than 2,500 toys.
Get Involved: Host a gift drive or sort and organize toy donations, categorize gifts by age group, and help arrange the toy closet for gift distribution.

Throughout the Year
Ad Hoc Drives: NVFS programs often have wish list items needed at various times of the year.
Get Involved: Reach out to NVFS when you are interested in doing a drive to learn about the most pressing needs. This generally includes items like diapers, socks, food, clothing, and toiletries.

    For the past several years, Lockheed Martin’s Manassas branch has supported NVFS’ SERVE Campus with a food and donation drive at its annual Chili Cook-Off. Company employees also volunteer their time at the Hunger Resource Center, and support NVFS’ holiday and back-to-school drives.

    Apple Federal Credit Union (AFCU) has served as a paradigm for corporate investment in NVFS for nearly a decade. Employees have donated thousands of hours by volunteering at NVFS’ Hunger Resource Center, preparing meals at NVFS shelters, providing life skills and financial management classes and supporting NVFS’ Training Futures workforce development program.
