By strengthening family relationships, NVFS Youth Initiatives clients experience more stability at home, and are less inclined to act out or make poor choices. Outcomes include improved school performance and prevented or reduced gang involvement, as well as a decreased risk of human trafficking.
Enriching Our Community Through Long-Term Partnerships
As a part of team-building activities, employees of our committed partner, Micron Technology, Inc., regularly volunteer at NVFS’ SERVE campus, participate in NVFS school supply and food drives, and collect business clothes so that shelter guests have professional attire to wear to job interviews.
Back-to-School Drive: Giving Kids the Tools to Succeed
NVFS’ annual back-to-school drive provides school supplies to local underprivileged children, giving them the tools they need to succeed in the new school year. Donate funds, donate school supplies, or volunteer!

NVFS Fairfax County Housing Teams Recognized
Fairfax County recognized NVFS’ Bridging Affordability housing teams for their leadership in providing rental services to homeless individuals and families, those with disabilities or experiencing domestic violence, and households on county waiting lists.
“I just want to thank you and your community members at NVFS for your financial, emotional, social support, etc. to my family and I. Thank you for the last meeting we had and how you took the time to explain to me the progress I had made and how I can go from here. Nobody had ever told me that, and that gave me the courage to go ahead and plan for my future knowing that I can always come to members of NVFS any time I need advice and support.”
