Positive Outcomes for Local Teens

By strengthening family relationships, NVFS Youth Initiatives clients experience more stability at home, and are less inclined to act out or make poor choices. Outcomes include improved school performance and prevented or reduced gang involvement, as well as a decreased risk of human trafficking.

Enriching Our Community Through Long-Term Partnerships

As a part of team-building activities, employees of our committed partner, Micron Technology, Inc., regularly volunteer at NVFS’ SERVE campus, participate in NVFS school supply and food drives, and collect business clothes so that shelter guests have professional attire to wear to job interviews.

NVFS’ annual back-to-school drive provides school supplies to local underprivileged children, giving them the tools they need to succeed in the new school year. Donate funds, donate school supplies, or volunteer!

Want to learn more about the importance of early childhood education in Northern Virginia? Join NVFS’ Village of Impact giving program! At our next event, we’ll be discussing education efforts in our community and putting together backpacks for children in need as part of the Village of Impact’s focus on community stewardship.
  

Fairfax County recognized NVFS’ Bridging Affordability housing teams for their leadership in providing rental services to homeless individuals and families, those with disabilities or experiencing domestic violence, and households on county waiting lists.

Volunteer: Our top volunteer needs this month take place at our thrift stores and the Hunger Resource Center (HRC). 

Donate Food: Help the HRC serve as a resource for families who rely on free/reduced lunch during the school year.
