Oakton, Va., Nov. 6, 2006— What does it take to be named one of the best places to work in Northern Virginia? Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) will answer that question by recognizing local companies that provide family friendly workplace policies and benefits at the 2006 CARE Awards Breakfast on Nov. 15 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.
The breakfast is also great opportunity for senior leadership and human resources professionals to learn what award-winning companies are doing to create positive work environments that help in recruiting and retaining the best employees in Northern Virginia.
The finalists this year are Military Officers Association of America and Ventera in the Small Size Company category; National Council Teachers of Mathematics and Oberon & Associates in the Mid Size Company category; and Argon and AMERICAN SYSTEMS in the Large Size Company category.
Some of the benefits offered by the finalists include flex time and telework options, on-site fitness centers, interest-free computer loan programs, tuition reimbursement, in-house seminars for financial planning and health issues, career coaches for employees, lactation rooms, adoption assistance, online courses and sabbatical programs.
Since 1992, the CARE Awards have identified the best places to work in Northern Virginia. The program was established to recognize companies that are leaders in providing family-friendly benefits for employees and that are committed to helping employees maintain a healthy work and life balance.
