NVFS Receives $2.6+ Million in Grants in FY19 Second Quarter

Nine corporations and foundations supplied $161,930 to support program operations across Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), with an additional $2.5 million provided by the Day 1 Families Fund to end family homelessness.

(Oakton, Va. – Jan. 1, 2019) NVFS is grateful for the support of our corporate and foundation partners to help us maximize our impact in the community through their generous contributions. We would like to thank the following supporters for their grant awards in the second quarter of fiscal year 2019 (beginning July 1, 2018) to help our neighbors in need through NVFS’ programming and services:

I.J. and Hilda M. Breeden Foundation $10,000 NVFS’ SERVE Family Shelter
Booz Allen Hamilton $5,000 NVFS’ SERVE Family Shelter
The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation $30,000 NVFS’ Training Futures program
Day 1 Families Fund (Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos) $2,500,000 NVFS’ homeless services
Edna Wardlaw Charitable Trust $10,000 NVFS’ Multicultural Center
Greater Washington Community Foundation Fund for Children Youth and Families $50,000 NVFS’ homeless services
Northrop Grumman $25,000 NVFS’ Training Futures program
Safeway Foundation – Hunger Is $4,430.22 NVFS’ Hunger Resource Center
TD Charitable Foundation $40,000 NVFS’ Training Futures
Wells Fargo Foundation $12,500 NVFS’ Training Futures

These programs support neighbors across multiple jurisdictions, including Fairfax and Prince William counties, and the city of Manassas, which support 35,000+ individuals throughout Northern Virginia. Thank you for helping us to deepen our reach and impact in our local community.
